The tiger is back

Came back from holidays to find the Tiger in bloom. One of the earlier additions to the garden , this must have been here for close to 20 years.  The last bloom saw 4 spikes ... this time only one but the flowers are in much better shape and colour more intense.

Flowering as usual

The netting has managed to keep all the birds out. Orchids are flowering again.  This yellow hybrid is very floriferous and the new spikes just keep coming.

The green one

It has been raining quite a bit and i have not been checking on the orchids. Found this early on monday after a heavy thunderstorm. A first bloom....  unusually green in colour the yellow markings seems pale in comparism to the patches of green.  Would be interesting to see what the next bloom looks like.

Amorphophallus titanum awakening

After more than a year of hybernation...its finally peeking out of the ground again. It will grow up to 2 m  or more within the month, also known as the corpse flower because of the smell. It is ocassionally featured in news whenever there is flowering in botanical gardens around the world.
