Feeding
There were some enquires about what i use to feed my orchids. My main fertilizers are still Gaviota 63/67 and in addition i supplement with HB101 and Japan Orchids BE-1. I get them online and shipping can be expensive if you don't have a friend to help. I have tried making BE-1 into a spray and its effective but your neighbours will complain about the smell so now i just use those small fertiliser baskets or tea bags. HB101 is great ... you get nice shinny and lush green leaves. For rooting Lush Gro Roots and Tubers. HB101 and BE-1 can be found on Rakuten and Lush Grow can be bought at Eco City Hydrophonics.
Bulbophyllum spiesii var Vanuatu
Having missed several of the fletcherianums on ebay, i searched the web for quite a while before coming across Windy Hill Gardens. i got in touch and managed to get a Bulbophyllum spiesii. From the way the specimen was packed for shipping. You can tell the amount of TLC that went into caring for their orchids. This one is adapting well and the 2 lighter coloured leaves are new growths. The longer is close to double the length of the longest leaf when i got the plant. i have removed a back bulb and its sitting on spaghnum moss.....
