Back to orchids

Some of the blooms this morning after the thunderstorm last night. Bit neglected but not forgotten. A batch of seedlings blooming, couple of bellinas , a half eaten phal stephanie, a princess kailuani and a ambo flava.

Anthuriums seedlings and a stressed japanese plant

Deflasked a while ago , these anthurium seedlings are doing quite well. I think these are Anthurium sireh. Grown in my usual seedlings plastic tray bought from bargain shops.

A stressed japanese begonia that need to be revived.

Planting for indoors

This seems to be getting more and more popular and it seems the possibilities are endless. I spend the last couple of weeks planting in some minature pots bought from Daiso and  whatever glassware I could find at reasonable prices. I price tags for those for sale are usually close to a hundred dollars and often they cost substaintially more. Now that I have tried buying the materials/plants and growing them, those asking price are not unreasonable.
Small cactus and succulents are 3 for $10 ,  Larger ones are usually between $10 to $30. The ferns are to $15. Plants are close to $10. Imported varieties especially those from japan cost quite a bit more.
The glasswares can be anything from 80cents for the glass mug to $20 for the small goldfish bowl. Then margarita glass was $6, bought from a kitchen ware shop around joo chiat. The stones and pebbles  are a few dollars a box. I use regular potting mx and cactus mix depending on the plants.
