Phalaenopsis mok choi yew

Another gigantea hybrid in bloom...  started with 3 spikes and only one spike survived the birds. If not for the netting this would have became bird food as well.

Easter blooms

3 more orchids in bloom. This appendiculata from pahang is really free flowering....  has been in bloom for the last 6 months throwing out new spikes each time the old one fades.

2 new blooms

These 2 manages to escape ending up as bird food.  Noid Vanda hybrid and the Renanthera kalsom 4N hybrid.






More seedpods ready for germination

Harvested another 7 seedpods pollinated around october / november period. Off to the lab for germination today.  Among them couple of really interesting ones...

Harvest time

Harvested 6 seedpods this morning. The birds were beginning to chomp on them so the netting was timely. Germination cost has gone up and its now $15 / pod . These will be send for germination today. As AVA no longer provide this service for hobbist, Woon Leng is a good alternative.
